Gary Steven Groves
OPENING Sun August 26th
Gary Steven Groves is a true artist in every sense of the word. If it be his own visions realized through mixed media, or connecting with a vintage piece of work through refinishing, Gary's experience and skill are among the absolute best.
“If For the 40's“ is a mixed media show comprised of both Groves' personal works and vintage pieces primarily from the 1940s. Groves' Geometrical Abstract paintings are of two inspirations, both important to the history of the 1940s: Nikola Tesla and The Circus. The paintings will be installed alongside images from across the world in the traditional darkroom black and white, and color digital photographs.
Gary Steven Groves graduated the San Francisco Art Institute with a BFA in Photography in 1984. He is a freelance artist, art dealer, and photographer. Gary works with traditional gelatin silver prints in black and white and Cibachrome. Combining images with the use of a 'Diana' camera, he produces a pictorial effect with a collage of subjects to create landscapes from all over the world. He owns and operates a studio in New Jersey.
